Hope Talks is a series of escalating conversations hosted by Sophia Think Tank in partnership with Partnering for Transformation and the Australian Media Engagement Project.  It involces a Media lunch, followed by Urban Conversations. At the moment we are in the process of Hope Talks: Beyond the Game – Is there a Crisis in Australian Democracy?  This series is being held in both Melbourne and Sydney.

The AMEP Media lunch in Melbourne featured Shaun Carney of the Herald Sun and Monash University.  He spoke candidly about how he perceives the situation to be in Federal Politics at the meoment and then led a lively discussion with the Media and other leaders who were present.  The film of this event will soon be posted to this site.

Urban Conversations in Melbourne will be held on June 2, 6pm at Cafe Hamodava (Westwood Place, Melbourne).  The keynote speaker is Jim Longley, past NSW State MP and current Chief Executive of the NSW Government Disability Services.  He has a fascinating insight into the role of Goivernment in Australia and will get us talking.  To assist in that process will be a Panel consisting of a Greens local Councillor, A Mother of two small children, and a Journalist, to name just three.  You are invited to join us as a part of the audience who will be participating in the conversation.  If you can be there please let me know by emailing

The AMEP Media lunch in Sydney will be held on May 30, 12 Noon at the CPX Offices, 302/447 Kent St. Sydney.  The keynote speaker is Andrew West of the ABC Religion and Ethics Report.  Spaces are limited for this one so an RSVP should be sent to david.wilson@sophiathinktank asap if you are able to join us.  You will find more information at Hope Talks Flier ML S
