Is education all about just ‘ getting a job ‘ or does it at least include helping people to look for wisdom and to know it when they find it, and to think smart and ask questions on the journey…..

We have so much to learn from our Indigenous brothers and sisters. I wonder how the current election campaign would be different if we took notice of such wisdom! We need to enter the Indigenous dialogue as listeners rather than ‘experts in all things’!!

Interesting website on Indigenous community and Aboriginal ways of learning. Highlights education with community focus.
    Cultural wisdom…

The 8 ways of “Aboriginal Learning”:
    community links
    deconstruct reconstruct
    land links
    symbols & images
    learning maps
    story sharing

    reading up the list:
“Tell a story. Make a plan. Think and do. Draw it. Take it outside. Try a new way. Watch first, then do. Share it with others.”

This sort of education / learning / knowledge is a lot more that just ‘getting a job’.
